OUR STORY

We are Laura Pimentel and Carmen Grullón, founders of POINTA, the first all-needlepoint shop in the Dominican Republic. What began as a personal hobby quickly connected us to a vibrant and rapidly growing community of stitchers. As we became more immersed in this world, we identified a clear gap in our local market, there were no dedicated needlepoint suppliers or spaces in the country.

Motivated by our passion for the craft and inspired by the creativity we encountered, we brought POINTA to life. Our mission is to nurture the art of needlepoint in the Dominican Republic by offering thoughtfully curated materials, and a welcoming environment for both beginners and experienced stitchers.

POINTA is more than a shop, it is a creative space where tradition meets modern expression, and where every stitch tells a story. We are committed to growing and supporting a community built on creativity, craftsmanship, and connection stitch by stitch.
